Leader for Chasing Buddha India: Venerable Tenzin Chogkyi was intrigued by meditation after reading Be Here Now and Autobiography Of A Yogi in the early 1970s. Searching for a path, she bought a one–way ticket to India with hopes of meeting H.H. the Dalai Lama. She became his student and of Kirti Tsenshab Rinpoche and Lama Zopa Rinpoche at Tushita Meditation Centre in Dharamsala and Kopan Monastery in Kathmandu. Back in the US, she worked in Lama Rinpoche's Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition, became director of Vajrapani Institute, co–director of FPMT International Office, FPMT Center Services Coordinator and completed several long meditation retreats. |

Her novice ordination in 2004 was with H.H. the Dalai Lama. Since 2006, Ven. Chogkyi has taught at FPMT centers worldwide, throughout the Americas and New Zealand and also is a visiting teacher for the Liberation Prison Project. She is commited to animal rescue and helped found India's Karuna Animal Sanctuary, near Dharamsala. |
